Cocktails thrown at NCP’s July march vehicle
A cocktail explosion occurred under the temporary central office of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) in Bangla Motor in the capital. The party said that the explosion was targeted at the vehicle of the NCP’s Dhaka Metropolitan July Padyatra.

At 11:49 pm on Wednesday, a WhatsApp group run by the NCP said, “A cocktail explosion occurred in a vehicle of the Dhaka Metropolitan July Padyatra in front of the NCP central office in Dhaka. A protest march will be organized by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police at 12:30 am today in protest. The venue is the central office.”
Notably, the NCP’s temporary office is on the 16th floor of the Rupayan Trade Center in Bangla Motor.
When asked, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Ramna Police Station Kamrul Hasan told Prothom Alo that a cocktail explosion occurred at the back of the vehicle around 12:15 am. After learning about the matter, he went to the spot with a team. However, no one saw how the cocktail exploded or whether someone threw it. The incident is being investigated.
Earlier, on June 23, there was an incident where cocktails were thrown at NCP leaders and workers in front of Rupayan Tower. The NCP had reported that at least two people were injured in that incident.
